•   How long does it take to build a website?
We have created new websites from start to finish in as little as 1 week. While 2-4 weeks is the average time the process takes working with new clients for most website projects.

Once you have identified what you want your website to look like, our web designer will create an initial storyboard for your review and work with you on changes. Once the design is approved, your development website will be set up and ready for page content. The storyboard and development site set up takes 1 week on the average, depending on the time it takes to receive final approval from the client.

The time needed to add page content varies greatly, and is often the step in the process that takes the most amount of time depending on several factors. If we are setting up the initial page content, we can reuse content from your existing site and/or upload content provided to us. If you choose to create your own content, we will teach how to do this during a training session so you may work at your convenience. We encourage you to visit with your web designer to determine your needs and a timeframe that will meet your goals.

The training session (included with every WebFrame package) teaches you the basics of how to use WebFrame, and generally takes 1/2 - 1 hour.

•   Can you use our company’s logo, images, colors to support our brand identity standards?
Yes, just supply us with your branding guidelines, PMS colors, and any logos, photos or graphics you would like us to use. Images need to be at least 72 ppi at 100% of the size to be used. We accept many graphic file formats such as PSD, PDF, EPS, TIF, JPG and GIF. Samples of your existing marketing materials and advertisements are encouraged.

•   Where can I find ideas for website designs that would be a good fit for my type of business and industry?
Browse the huge selection of website design templates on our website to get ideas. Search on the web for other sites similar to your business to gain additional ideas and insight. Our web designer will create a custom website design for you based on your list of likes and requirements.

•   Can you customize a website template I found that I like?
Normal customization of a static website design is included in the price of your WebFrame Package:
  • color changes to match your corporate colors
  • inserting your logo
  • inserting your company contact information
If the website template identified uses Flash animation (movement of text and/or graphics), the cost to customize could be significant. Please discuss the pros & cons, as well as costs, of using Flash with your web designer.

Through the WebFrame interface on your website, you will have control over the name and order of each of your web pages, as well as the text in the main area of your web pages.

•   Do I get to approve my website design after it is customized by you?
Yes, after your web design is customized, it will be emailed to you for your review. Call or email your website designer to make changes. (Limited to one revision process with limited modifications. Additional revisions may incur additional charges.)

•   What parts of my website will be editable?
By default, the names and organization of your web pages as well as the actual page content of your web pages are editable with WebFrame. This gives you the freedom to customize the page content of your site as you desire.

The area around your page content (such as the header, footer, overall colors & design elements) are part of the "skin" of your website, and would be editable in the future by us based on time & materials. For a visual illustration, please see How the WebFrame Works.

Setting up additional custom editable areas on your website are available. Talk to your web designer about those needs.

•   When do I have to decide the names of my web pages for the navigation?
That's the benefit of using WebFrame. Once your website layout is complete, you will have control over the names of your web pages and the order in which they display through WebFrame’s online interface on your website. There is no limit on how many times you can change the names of web pages or rearrange their order.

•   Can we use custom fonts on our website?
World Wide Website standards and internet browser software manufacturers dictate which fonts are deemed viewable by all on the World Wide Web. When any text appears on a website, it must use the fonts from this "web safe fonts" list. If you would like to use fonts on your site other than the web safe fonts, they must be converted to a graphic so they are viewable by all who visit your website. Many aspects of your website design could incorporate your specific fonts as graphics, while other areas of your website must be left as text-based.

In addition, using text instead of images to display content on your site is better for search engines to "see" and be able to match your site more easily to potential visitor's search results. Please discuss your specific font needs with your web designer.

•   Can you create a logo for my company/organization?
Yes, we can give you an estimate to create a custom logo to your specifications. Your logo will be designed in Photoshop as a raster-based file for multi-media (on-screen) use.

If you want to use the logo we create for you for future printing projects, a fee may be charged by your advertising/printing company to convert the logo to a vector-based graphic for print reproduction.

•   Can you help me find good photos to represent my business and products?
If you do not have images to supply us for use on your website, we can select them from our large selection of Royalty-Free stock photography (may be a small charge depending on what you need).

•   Can I have hover navigation (drop down menu)?
For a nominal fee, hover (drop down menu) navigation can be added to your website. Hover navigation can be installed horizontally (best choice) or vertically. Our standard hover navigation displays Level 1 pages in the main menu heading, and Level 2 pages in the drop down menu.

Like traditional WebFrame navigation, the hover navigation will automatically update itself when you rename, add or remove pages.

Hover navigation works best on your site when main Level 1 pages are limited to between 5-7 short, main headings. If the number of pages or page names are too long, your menu becomes so wide forcing visitors to scroll left to right to view the full menu. For this reason, we recommend planning your site map accordingly if hover navigation is desired.

Important Consideration: At this time, hover navigation does not function well on touch-screen devices, such as smart phones or touch-scren pads and tablets, which do not support a hover action. Please discuss solutions and alternatives with your web designer if this is a concern.

•   Can I have videos on my website?
Yes. There are several different ways to add video on your website. Considerations such as visitor accessibility to the videos you’re going to offer, size of the video, and the video’s format should be discussed with your web designer.

In addition, the Edit HTML page type allows you to embed your videos from 3rd party websites, such as YouTube, onto your website.

•   Can I link to my business profile on social networking sites?
Yes, and we encourage this practice. You can discuss the various display options available with your web designer.

•   Do you offer any viral marketing features such as the ability for visitor to send a web page's link to a friend or to post a link on their social networking profile?
Yes, we have a "Share this Page with a Friend" add-on feature which allows visitors to email a link to a particular page on your website and add their own comment.

Other 3rd party products are available and can be integrated into your website allowing visitors to post a link to a page on your site to social networking sites.

•   Can I have a blog on my website?
At this time, WebFrame does not offer a blog. We encourage our clients to create free blogs with 3rd party sites, then put a link on your website to your 3rd party blog. Having your blog separate from your website is a good way to drive more traffic to your website and also helps your website to rank more favorably in search engine results.

•   Can I have a newsletter or email sign up for visitors on my site?
Yes, we offer an email marketing tool, TouchBase, which allows visitors to sign up for email notifications on your site. The email list is automatically built in TouchBase. Additionally our email marketing tool allows you to create multiple messages, manage multiple email lists and send email blasts to those mailing lists, through our user-friendly interface. •   How do I get my new website to come up in the search engines?
If you are using a new domain, we will submit your website to the major search engines. If you are using an existing domain, the search engines will pick up the changes of your new website on their next visit.

There are several factors involved in determining how your website will rank in search results. Search relevance, popularity, website marketing and longevity are a few of the top key components. We encourage you to educate yourself on the topic of search engine optimization as this technology is continually changing.
